Thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), GEFA expects to administer the following energy programs:
- State Energy Program
- Weatherization Assistance Program
- Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program for cities under 35,000 people and counties under 200,000 people
- Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate program
On Thursday, March 26, GEFA received guidelines and funding allocation announcements regarding the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program. The complete list of funding allocations by cities and counties is listed below. Through this program, GEFA will receive $21,630,700, of which at least 60% will be made available to cities and counties with populations less than 35,000 and 200,000 respectively. These funds can be used by local governments in Georgia to implement energy efficiency measures or community-wide energy efficiency programs.
GEFA has also received funding allocations and criteria for the State Energy Program and the Weatherization Assistance Program. We have not received guidelines for the Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate program. For more information on these programs, please click here: http://www.gefa.org/Index.aspx?page=476.
Calls for applications will be announced through this list-serve and on the GEFA Web page. We are in the process of developing a list of frequently asked questions to publish on this site. If you have any questions, please submit them via e-mail to energy@gefa.ga.gov
